Overview
Jesus while on this earth performed some supernatural acts.
Let’s check out Luke
Luke 4:13-22 13 “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. (14) And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (15) And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. (16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. (17) And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, (18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (20) And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. (21) And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. (22) And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?”
Note: And the rebellion begins, like we saw him as a little boy and we know his father.
How can Jesus make this bold claim?
Let’s continue in verse 28:
28 “And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, (29) And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. (30) But he passing through the midst of them went his way …”
Okay, that last verse is the most commonly overlooked verse in the Bible, in my opinion! How can you pass through people? You can’t! So why dont we pay attention to this verse?
When you come across a verse like this in the Bible, don’t just simply read it and move on. Meditate on it!
You do realize you can’t just walk through a mob! Walking through crowds at the mall is hard enough, right? But a mob is different; they are not going to let you pass.
I remember as a young kid I got jumped. They would not let me pass. I had to fight my way out!
Even in a stadium, there’s people that panic and they trample over people. Why? Because they couldn’t pass through them.
So what I’m saying is this is something supernatural that Jesus did by passing through the midst of this mob.
But the good news is, we can do what Jesus did because why? Jesus did this as a man, as someone that has the Holy Spirit. So we can do this today! This is hard to believe, but just hear me out. Jesus didn’t perform anything that we couldn’t do; otherwise, he would be disqualified to save us.
That’s why the devil was tempting Jesus to do a God power — in order to disqualify Jesus.
So are you saying we can pass through people? Yes!
Listen, I’ll tell you this true story. I used to work at this company. At this time I would skip lunch and just pray. Upon returning from lunch, I came inside the building and began walking down the hallway. I could clearly see my manager from 30 feet away walking towards me. As We came within 10 feet of each other, he said “Jeno, where did you come from? There was nobody in this hallway but me, and then all of a sudden, you just appeared!” I believe I was walking in the spirit similar to what Jesus did here in scripture when He walked through the mob. Now, in all honesty, I found it hard to walk in this anointing. As you know, the cares of this world can grab at you. You have overtime to do. You have bills to pay. You have family life, as well. You have to eat, blah blah blah. You get it. I found it difficult to be on the mountain top, so to speak, because the cares of this world try to take you off this mountain.
This life is a life of sacrifice. To maintain this life, there’s gonna be some sacrifices. Is it worth it, you betcha. And I endeavor to walk in this anointing again!
Multiplied Food
John 6:1-14
1 “After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. (2) And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. (3) And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. (4) And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. (5) When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? (6) And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. (7) Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. (8) One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, (9) There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? (10) And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. (12) When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. (13) Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. (14) Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.”
Note: This, too, we need to move into. Some may say, “Oh, this is just a story.” Um, no, that’s the problem. Sometimes we just brush these stories off, and we either say “Yea, but that’s Jesus. He can do anything,” or “It’s just a story. It’s not real.” These are lies from the pit of hell to freeze you in your tracks so that YOU DO NOTHING! THE DEVIL WANTS YOU TO DO NOTHING!
I already explained that Jesus wanted to be known as the “son of man” because He didn’t use His godly powers that would disqualify Him from fulfilling the law. He had to do everything as a man, just like us!
There’s some testimonies of an organization that was set up to feed like 100 homeless, but for some reason, over 500 homeless came to eat. They knew there was not enough chicken soup to go around. However, as they prayed to God and kept serving, the pot just never got empty! As long as they kept sticking the serving spoon in the pot, chicken soup would come out. It was like an everlasting supply of soup and all 500 homeless were fed!
This should be our normal. Jesus performed many more miracles, but, hopefully, these examples ignite your faith to want the “more.”
I pray that we are NEVER satisfied with “normal.” We are supernatural beings, and we crave the supernatural via the Holy Spirit.
Give us a hunger, Lord, for more of You. May we all move into our gifts, and may we manifest for You and You alone, Lord. May we follow the great commission, and may we move with all authority in Heaven and on earth. May we make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. May we obey You with everything You have commanded us because surely You are with us even unto the end of the age, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
I truly love you all,
